So here I am, in a hotel room in Cody Wyoming rainy and cold. Caught a lot of great horse photos yesterday, windy, a bit cold but beautiful day. Got some nice new babies and some great yearlings. Amazingly most of the babies seem to be little stud colts. It was a great day full of studly action, sparing at every turn, very serious. Broke all the rules, got very very close with the stallions. Truly a day of becoming one with the horses. Spent several hours just sitting in the open fields with them. Great cooperation with each band.
Yellowstone on the other hand was a total bust. Rains of late have caused mudslides in the park and some serious avalanches. East gate out of Cody completely locked up. 7-9 inches of snow predicted for tonight at elevations of 7,000 feet or better. Pure bust, no bears although I did get a few big horns sparing today while driving the road from Cody to the gate.
Heading home tomorrow, truck not in good shape. Long 24 hour ride home, but here we go. Until I get home and process, see you in a few.
